Hidden Gem: The Colonial House
Discover a Hidden Gem in Norwood that you may have driven by and never known it existed. Or maybe you have not visited this interesting spot in years. So take a little trip with Patch...we'll show you the way.
Welcome to the Colonial House Restaurant, proudly "In the Neighborhood" at 33 Savin Ave., Norwood.
And "In the Neighborhood" is no exaggeration. The Colonial House is tucked away on a residential street in a part of town once known as "Swedesville." The neighborhood, nestled into the hills heading south down toward the "flats," is cozy and close knit; the Colonial House fits in perfectly.
When you walk into the restaurant, you will be greeted by pictures of locals and large wall displays celebrating the town's hockey and football teams. The bar is small, but well-stocked. Owners Rick McGowan and Joanne Roof have well documented town pride, and give generously to local charities including the Circle of Hope.
