Massachusetts Brewers Guild Adds Adam Romanow of Castle Island Brewing Company to its Board of Directors

Owner of Castle Island Brewing Joins Mass Brewers Guild

NORWOOD, Mass. | The Massachusetts Brewers Guild, a nonprofit organization which works to promote and protect craft brewers across the Commonwealth, has undergone new structural changes to help amplify the mission and message of the organization with the public.

One of these changes is the addition of Adam Romanow, owner of Castle Island Brewing Company located in Norwood, Mass., to join its board of directors. Romanow, 31, brings his experience in marketing, financial forecasting and branding to the team.

Castle Island launched in December of 2015. After eight years of serving Power Point presentations and Excel charts to executives as a compensation consultant, Romanow wanted change. The craft beer enthusiast and foodie completed an apprenticeship at White Birch Brewing to learn the ropes, and after five years of research, planning, and securing investment from family and friends, Castle Island Brewing was born. According to Romanow, he now feels much more at home serving pints and smiles instead of spreadsheets.

In his spare time, Romanow will spearhead the Massachusetts Brewers Guild’s event committee with the task of planning two beer festivals this year, quarterly brewer meet-ups and smaller Meet the Brewer events across the state.

“I was honored to be elected to the board and help to bring together a stronger community of beer lovers and brewery owners across the Commonwealth,” says Romanow. “We want to help put the Massachusetts beer scene back on the center stage. We make world-class beer in this state and we need to make sure everyone knows about it.”
