Norwood Man Got Dinner After Fatal Hit-And-Run: Prosecution

After the suspect struck and killed the woman in Somerville, he left, went out to dinner and went to Home Depot, prosecutors said.

SOMERVILLE, MA — After a Norwood man struck and killed a woman with his pickup truck, he didn't stop, prosecutors said. Instead, prosecutors said Edward Clark, 55, went out for dinner with his girlfriend, according The Boston Globe. Prosecutors also said Clark made a stop at Home Depot to buy supplies to repair his truck, WHDH reported.

Clark was arraigned in Somerville District Court on Friday. He pleaded not guilty to leaving the scene of an accident causing death. He was released without bail and a GPS monitor around his ankle. Clark is not allowed to drive and must refrain from taking drugs and drinking alcohol, WBZ News reported.

Clark was arrested on Thursday after his truck was found with heavy front-end damage, according to the Middlesex District Attorney's office. Last week, Allison Donovan, 40, a longtime educator, was struck and killed in a crosswalk at the intersection of Powder House Boulevard and Hardan Road Friday night. Police said Clark drove away after hitting Donovan and another woman.
