Norwood Police Seize Machine Gun, Fireworks, and Marijuana

Norwood Police said they found four handguns, an assault rifle, parts to build a machine gun, fireworks, and marijuana.

NORWOOD, MA — A Norwood man was arrested after police said they seized several firearms, parts to build a machine gun, a large amount of fireworks, and various forms of marijuana and paraphernalia. Andre Origlio, 29, faces 29 charges, including possession of an assault weapon, possession of a machine gun, five counts of possessing a firearm without a license, four counts of possession with intent to distribute a class D, and violating drug laws in a school zone.

Police said they were already investigating Origlio and were granted a search warrant Friday for his home at 46 Geraldine Drive. When searching the suspect's home, police said they found marijuana, hash oil, THC edibles, equipment to extract THC oil from marijuana, four handguns, an assault rifle, parts to build a machine gun, ammunition, and a large supply of fireworks.

According to police, Origlio, also had material used in fireworks, suggesting he was building his own fireworks. Police said there was so much evidence that they had to use a police wagon to bring it all back to the station.
