Person Killed By Commuter Rail At Norwood Depot

There have been extreme delays heading into Boston.

NORWOOD, MA — A person was struck and killed by an inbound Commuter Rail train near Norwood Depot Tuesday morning, officials said.

The person was struck around 8:13 a.m. and caused heavy delays on the Franklin Line heading inbound to Boston, where more than a million people are expected to gather for the Patriots parade. As of 9:20 a.m. there were delays of up to 45-55 minutes.

The Commuter Rail said the person was struck on a section of double track, and one track was re-opened around 9 a.m.

"This incident caused delays on the Franklin line this morning and will continue to do so as trains can only pass this area at low speeds," the Commuter Rail said.
