St. Catherine School Students Compete & Win at the Massachusetts State Science and Engineering Fair
Science Fair

At the beginning of June, six St. Catherine of Siena School students took home prizes in the prestigious Statewide Middle School Science and Engineering Fair which was held this year at Worcester Technical High School. This accomplishment is all the more impressive since our students were competing with 270 projects and students from 109 schools! In the Regional V science fair held at MIT in Cambridge on May 1 & 2, 2015, nine entrants from SCS were selected to go on to the state level - Delaney Reardon, Chloe Byrne, Laura Byrne, Adelene Jeneid, Daisha Joseph, Michael Scuderi, Reilly Coleman, Maeve Glavin and Maggie Curran. After a rigorous judging process involving 106 judges, our students received their cash prizes and trophies. For Grade 8 student Chloe Byrne, this is her second win in two consecutive years. Sister Jeanne indicated that “Chloe was so well advanced in her work. Her project was conceived last summer” and refined over the school year. “What an incredible student and certainly an asset to St. Catherine School.” Delaney Reardon has submitted her project for competition at the state level in California. Congratulations to our student entrants and to their teachers, Sister Jeanne Morris and Mr. Sean Regan!
