Wegmans announces Westwood opening date and 550 full-time and part-time positions

Wegmans Food Markets today announced it is now hiring and training for both part-time and full-time positions for its new Westwood location on University Ave near I95, set to open on October 11. A variety of positions in all departments are available. These include a significant number of culinary positions, such as cooks and front of house.

Wegmans Westwood store will employ a total of 550 full- and part-time people, the vast majority hired locally.

“Now is the time to apply. Although we won’t open for a few months, we will bring new employees on board quickly to start training,” said Marybeth Stewart, Wegmans Human Resources Manager for New England. “One of the reasons Wegmans is such a great place to work is that we promote from within. The Westwood Wegmans is a 122,000 square-foot supermarket and includes a Market Café with indoor and outdoor seating and a complete wine and beer shop.
