• Addressing a 'recognition shortage': Third annual breakfast celebrates local heroes (recorder.com) — Franklin County's Super Chamber Breakfast recently honored six everyday "superheroes" for their quiet, consistent service to local communities, including a retired Orange and Greenfield district court judge recognized for her work in veterans treatment court and domestic violence cases. The event highlighted how residents across the county, from health workers to crossing guards, show up daily to support neighbors.
   

• Edward T. Gordon (atholdailynews.com) — Services are planned in Orange this month for Edward "Eddie" Gordon, a lifelong Orange resident remembered for his humor, love of music and movies, and deep bond with his family. Calling hours and a funeral will be held October 12 at Witty's Funeral Home, followed by a celebration of life October 18 at the Tully City Council Club.
