Here's what you need to know to start off your week in Peabody.

Today is Monday, April 23. Here are five things to know today in Peabody.

  1. Expect rain to continue all day today and be prepared for flooding. The National Weather Service for much of Southern New England, including the Peabody area.
  2. Remembering the Holocaust and local survivors: Yom HaShoah, an annual interfaith commemoration of the Holocaust, will be held once again at tonight at 7 p.m. The keynote speaker will be Margot Strom, Executive Director of Facing History and Ourselves. There will be a candle-lighting ceremony, interfaith service and the posting of the colors by local veterans. Go to www.holocaustcenterbn.org for more information.
  3. Public forums for new middle school: The Higgins School Building Committee and project design team will be holding to build a new middle school to replace the Higgins on Tuesday. One meeting will be in the Higgins auditorium at 3:30 p.m. while the second forum will be in the Kiley School auditorium at 6:30 p.m.
  4. Farmers Market seeks entertainment: With a number of new vendors already lined for this year's Tuesday and Saturday Farmers Markets in Peabody, organizers are now still looking to lineup live entertainers to perform at both markets, as well as general volunteers and sponsors for the entertainment. Anyone interested can email Pam Lombardini
