Anonymous Tips Lead to Drug Arrest Near School

The arrest was a result of tips and a month-long investigation.

PEABODY, MA - A Peabody woman is facing numerous drug charges, including drug violations within a school zone, after a number of anonymous tips helped lead to her arrest on Tuesday.

Around 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Christine Zak, 32, of 18 Cashman Road in Peabody was arrested at her residence without incident and charged with three counts of possession of a class B drug with intent to distribute, possession of a class C drug with intent to distribute, three counts of a drug violation within a school zone, and three counts of a drug violation near a school park.

Several anonymous tips were received detailing complaints of suspected drug activity in the area of the South School. The arrest was the result of a month long investigation involving narcotics detectives.

Zak will be arraigned in Peabody District Court.

Police officials said this is another instance where community networking with residents of the city proved to be successful in eliminating narcotics activity.
