Coding with Minecraft at the South Branch

Kids can learn how to code to mod in different Minecraft game modes on April 23rd at the South Branch

Calling all Minecrafters! Learn how to summon lightning bolts with a bow and arrow or build giant rainbows in the Minecraft world with code. Spawn farm animals or monsters instantly and have fun “modding” your world. This workshop introduces coding concepts by teaching how to build or change (i.e. “mod”) the game using code based on Javascript programming language. It’s easy for beginners, challenging for experienced gamers and fun for everyone!

No coding experience is required. An expert from the Rhode Island Computer Museum will teach everything necessary to enjoy this workshop. This is a great way for kids who already enjoy Minecraft to get more out of their game. Kids will be taught how to mod in both creative and survival modes. This program is recommended for children ages 8-12 (grades 3-6) and will take place on Saturday, April 23 at 10:30AM.

The program is free and open to the public, but space is limited and registration is required. For more information and to reserve your child’s free spot for this program, please go to www.peabodylibrary.org or call 978-531-3380.
