Oil Pastel Class at Library

The Peabody Institute Library will host an oil pastel class,
taught by local artist, Paula Kulas, Wednesday, Jan. 18, 10 a.m., at the Main Library, 82 Main St., Peabody.

Kulas will teach this class with a focus on understanding tonal values using oil pastels. Getting the right value is important, as it allows one to be more expressive with color. To do this, a value chart will be used to analyze the values on a black-and-white landscape reference. Then, a color scheme (with any color of that same value) will be chosen for a unique expression. This class is fun and informative for beginners.

This program is generously funded by the Friends of the Peabody Institute Libraries. Registration is required for this event.
