Annual Essex County School Safety Conference

The Essex County District Attorney's office is hosting its annual school safety conference at the on April 3. The deadline to register, which incudes a continental breakfast, lunch and materials, is March 20. The registration fee is $35.

The conference is geared toward legislators, law enforcement, school officials, educators, community agencies and other interested professionals. This year's guest speakers are Bernard Melekian (Director of the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services), Dr. Robyn Silverman and Al Duncan, who will address the topic of "Creating a Community of Character: Cultivating Responsible, Respectful Role Models in Your School and Community."

Springtime social scholarship fundraiser

The Torigian Scholarship Committee will host " at the on Friday from 6:30-11 p.m. The event is open to the public and proceeds will be used to award additional Peter Torigian Scholarships to deserving high school seniors.

Woodwind Magic Happens

The next installment in the Approaches to Listening series of chamber music performances at the is coming up Monday, March 26.

The concert, "Woodwind Magic Happens," featuring clarinetist Stephen Bates and bassoonist Neil Fairbairn, is free but registration is required.
