Man Allegedly Attempts Carjacking with Sword and Throwing Star

PEABODY, MA - A Peabody man was arrested on carjacking charges on Monday evening after he allegedly threatened a driver with a sword and a throwing star.

However, Brian Miville, 33, of 9 Carlton St., #2 in Peabody couldn’t operate the car once he was in it, leading to his arrest, according to police.

Shortly after 7:30 p.m. on Monday, police said the victim was sitting in his vehicle outside the 7-11 on Lynn Street.

Miville, allegedly holding a sword and a throwing star, approached the vehicle and demanded the victim exit the car, according to Peabody Police Detective Michael Crane.

The victim complied and Miville entered the vehicle. But when Miville tried to get the vehicle moving, he was having difficulty and the victim then told Miville to get out of the vehicle, according to police.

Miville did get out and the victim was able to contact police.

Miville was arrested and charged with armed carjacking and assault with a dangerous weapon (sword).
