New City Building Commissioner in Peabody
Pending City Council approval, Albert Talarico's first day of work in Peabody will be July 13.

Mayor Edward A. Bettencourt Jr. announced the hiring of Albert Talarico as the city’s Building Commissioner. Talarico will replace Paul Kolodziej, who is retiring.
“We interviewed a number of well qualified candidates for this important position and Mr. Talarico really stood out,” said Mayor Bettencourt in a statement. “He comes to Peabody with a tremendous mix of experience both in the construction industry as well as municipal government having served over a decade as the Chief Building Inspector for the City of Revere.”
A graduate of Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School, Talarico received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Suffolk University. He is a Licensed Certified Building Official by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and boasts extensive technical and software expertise.

“The city has invested in the most cutting edge software available to help streamline the building permitting process,” Mayor Bettencourt said. “Mr. Talarico is extremely proficient in this area and will help ensure that our Inspectional Services Department keeps pace with 21st century technology.”
Known for his personable demeanor and even keeled approach to his work, Talarico will oversee a team of inspectors and support staff responsible for enforcing all provisions of the Massachusetts Building Code.
