1. MA Simon Malls Offer $1K Scholarships For Class of 2027 HS Seniors (patch.com) — Peabody-area high school seniors, including those in communities served by Liberty Tree and Northshore malls, can now apply for a $1,000 Shari Simon Greenberg Community Scholarship through the Simon Youth Foundation. The award supports a wide range of post-secondary paths, from four-year colleges to trade schools, with applications open through Feb. 12, 2027 and additional renewable awards available for top candidates.
   

2. Peabody To Tackle Bikes, E-Bikes, Scooters, E-Dirtbikes Safety (patch.com) — Peabody families are invited to a Sept. 24 community forum at Higgins Middle School focused on safety and laws around bicycles, e-bikes, e-scooters and e-dirtbikes. Hosted by the Peabody School Safety Task Force with Safe Routes to School, the event will feature Peabody Police, Boston Children's Hospital and school leaders sharing tips, legal guidance and time for community questions.
   

3. Planning underway for Peabody high school project (peabodyweeklynews.com) — Peabody school leaders are weighing two construction methods for the Peabody Veterans Memorial High School project, a choice that will shape costs, timelines, and how well the new building serves students. At the same meeting, the School Committee agreed to reimburse members for attending key statewide training conferences, aiming to strengthen local governance while detailed design and site testing work continues.
   

4. Peabody honors Sept. 11 (peabodyweeklynews.com) — Peabody residents, first responders, and city leaders gathered at the Public Safety Memorial on Perkins Street to honor local victims and fallen responders on the 25th anniversary of Sept. 11. The ceremony blended wreath-laying, prayers, and personal stories from families, underscoring how the city continues to remember three residents lost that day and to teach younger generations why the community still vows never to forget.
   

5. Tanners rally for a season-opening win (peabodyweeklynews.com) — Peabody High's Tanners opened their football season with a confidence-boosting 40–16 comeback win over Somerville, a sharp contrast to last year's long wait for a victory. Led by senior quarterback Dom Mercier's four passing touchdowns and a stingy second-half defense, the team showed Peabody fans a tougher mindset and hints that this fall could feel very different.
