Peabody Elects Julie Daigle, Stephanie Peach To City Council
While incumbents led the way for At-Large City Council seats, Wards 3 and 4 will have new voices.

PEABODY, MA — Stephanie Peach and Julie Daigle will be joining the Peabody City Council, according to unofficial results from Tuesday's election.
There were contested elections for councilors at-large and four ward City Council seats. Voters also cast ballots for Light Commission and the Library Board of Trustees, which included write-in candidates.

Mayor Ted Bettencourt was on the ballot, but did not have an official challenger this year.
Six candidates were running for five City Council at-large spots. There were also contested races in Wards 2, 3, 4 and 5.

The At-Large campaign went to the incumbents with Thomas Gould, Jon Turco, Annie Manning-Martin, Thomas Rossignoll and Ryan Melville retaining the five seats up for grabs. Bukia Chalvire finished outside of the top five.
Of the four ward seats up for grabs, it was newcomers Peach and Daigle winning in Wards 3 and 4, respectively.
Peach was able to top James Moutsoulas, while Daigle ousted Ed Charest.
"Unofficial results but it looks good," Daigle said on her campaign page. "Thank you to the voters and supporters! I look forward to serving Ward 4!"
Peter McGinn held off a challenge from Karen-Marie Cohen in Ward 2.
"Thank you to the voters of Ward 2 for their support," McGinn said on social media.
David Gamache defeated Joel Saslaw in Ward 5.
"Thank you to the residents of Ward 5," Gamache posted on his campaign page. "I am truly humbled by the support not only this election, but for the previous 24 years. You have my word I will continue to work hard for all of the residents of this great city."
Craig Wilson (Ward 1) and Mark O'Neil (Ward 6) ran uncontested races.
