Peabody City Hall Tree Lighting, Holiday Stroll Set To Kick Off Season

This year's event includes a DJ, Santa's Workshop, Santa & Mrs. Claus storytime, Touch-a-Truck, a Reindeer Scavenger Hunt and more.

PEABODY, MA — A full day of events to whisk in the holiday season is planned for Saturday in Peabody.

The annual City Hall holiday tree lighting and caroling will be at 4:30 p.m. as part of a full day of Holiday Stroll events set for 1 to 5 p.m.

The eighth annual event invites residents and visitors to stroll downtown or hop on the free trolley to visit businesses and see the holiday displays.

The Peabody Fire Station will also host a Touch-a-Truck and Jaws of Life demonstration as well as the smokehouse.

There will be a DJ spinning holiday hits and more at Courthouse Plaza with cider, cookies and other goodies.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will host a storytime at the Peabody Public Library.

The Knights of Columbus will host a Santa's Workshop with crafts, cookie decorating and other holiday treats and activities.

The North Shore Children's Museum of Peabody on Main Street will host a sampler play session for $5.

There will be a live nativity at the Center Church along with face painting and crafts.

The Osborn-Salata House will host a Reindeer Scavenger Hunt along with ornament decorating.

Peabody TV will also host "Green Screen Fun" where children and the young at heart can explore the magic of video production.

The Peabody Institute Library will also host a Winter Holiday Art Fair from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday with arts, crafts, homemade gifts and family activities.
