Peabody Mayor Ted Bettencourt announced this weekend he tested positive for coronavirus, was experiencing mild symptoms.

PEABODY, MA — Peabody Mayor Ted Bettencourt announced he tested positive for coronavirus and said he was experiencing mild symptoms.
The mayor made the announcement on social media this weekend. He said he believes he contracted the illness through a member of his household.
"Fortunately, I have experienced mild symptoms and I'm feeling better," he said in a post from Saturday. "However, receiving such news really puts things in perspective.

Bettencourt reiterated his appreciation for the support of residents and asked that those who live in Peabody continue to practice all coronavirus precautions.
