Peabody Police Dog Finds Drugs During Traffic Stop

PEABODY, MA -- Peabody Police arrested Lorena C. Quezada, 36, of North Andover, during a routine traffic stop. After arresting Quezada on charges uninsured motor vehicle operation, driving with a revoked registration and driving with a suspended license, the department's police dog detected drugs in the center console of the vehicle. After a more through search at the police station, police found Class A narcotics.

The motor vehicle stop was made at 10:08 pm on the Route 128 overpass on Centennial Drive. The Peabody Police log said Quezada was also charged with possession of a Class A substance and that more charges are pending. In Massachusetts, Class A substances a include heroin, morphine, GHB and Special K.

Last year Quezada made headlines when her 19-year-old son went missing from their North Andover home on July 27. Ricky Diaz was located in Indiana on August 10, after police located him using an IP address on his phone. He had traveled to Indiana to play video games with people he met through the PlayStation video game service.

In 2010, Quezada was arrested on shoplifting charges after stealing merchandise from Burlington Coat Factory in Peabody.
