Peabody Teen Wakes To Find Stranger In Her Home
A 13-year-old girl foiled a home invasion Wednesday morning.

PEABODY, MA -- A helicopter hovering over Peabody Wednesday morning was part of a search for a suspect in a break-in at a home in the Carroll School neighborhood. A 13-year-old girl woke to find a strange man rifling through her parents' bedroom on Wednesday morning. As she went to investigate, she and the intruder startled each other in the doorway to her bedroom. The girl yelled at the man, who fled the house on the corner of Kenwood Road and Principal's Way.
As the girl chased the man, he slammed a door in her face. The girl then called for her parents, who had already left for work, as well as Peabody Police, who responded around 9:33 am Wednesday.
The suspect reportedly made off with several items of jewelry. Peabody Police said they were still trying to determine what had been taken and that the investigation was ongoing. The suspect was described as a 6’ white male wearing white shorts, a white shirt and a Patriots hat. He was unshaven and was carrying a blue Children's Place bag, according to scanner reports.
