Restaurants At Brooksby Focus on Collaboration and Socialization

Linda Peterson, cochair of the resident dining committee, and her wife, Sydney Mason-Barrett, are huge fans of the restaurants at Brooksby.

Linda Peterson and her wife, Sydney Mason-Barrett, appreciate having six restaurants to choose from at Brooksby Village, an Erickson Senior Living community in Peabody, Mass.

"Having different options, be it dine-in or takeout, is a definite plus," Linda says. "The menus, which vary from restaurant to restaurant, have new dishes that rotate in and out monthly. And the chef's specials are always a welcome surprise!"

But more importantly, each made-to-order meal provides the opportunity for social connection. Whether gathering with neighbors for dinner, celebrating an occasion with friends, or inviting loved ones to share a meal, dining is a highlight of life at Brooksby.

Something for every taste

Each restaurant features its own distinct menu and atmosphere, and all dishes are prepared by professional chefs using the freshest ingredients. As a result, it's hard for Linda and Sydney to choose their favorite.

"Though I get really excited when eggplant parm over pasta is on one of the menus!" Linda says, with a smile.

The Windsor Restaurant, a traditional sit-down dining venue, offers delectable dishes such as applewood-smoked ham with apple-fig sauce, flounder Thermador, and pasta primavera.

Honey walnut shrimp and steak medallions with Diane sauce are just two of the tasty offerings at the

Overlook Restaurant, which was recently renovated with calming blue tones and coastal images. "I can always count on the shrimp scampi at the Overlook being delicious," Linda says.

Another great option for residents looking for a sit-down meal is the Harvest Restaurant, known for its creative array of savory vegetarian dishes like paneer tikka masala and vegetable moussaka.

The Tannery is a resident favorite, as many meet to catch up over handcrafted cocktails and tavern fare, including build-your-own burgers.

Residents love grabbing breakfast, lunch, and dinner at Greentree Café, where they can customize omelets, burgers, salads, flatbreads, and pizzas--making for unique and tasty combinations.

And at Cider House, comfort food favorites like cottage pie and local New England baked cod with white-wine butter sauce are hard to top. "The French onion soup at Cider House can't be beat," Linda says.

Fresh, flavorful takes

The community's seventh restaurant, Northfields, is set to open this year. "We are so excited to bring our newest dining venue to life," says Dining Director Kimberly Kielbasa.

As with all restaurants and menus, Northfields will be shaped by resident input. Kielbasa and her team work closely with the Resident Advisory Council's dining committee to solicit feedback and new ideas.

For Linda, serving as the dining committee's cochair is an honor. "I believe in working with positive energy and finding solutions together," she says. "I am so pleased that requests for more protein-rich and varied vegetarian dishes are happening. When we arrived, tofu was not a common ingredient on menus."

Residents can provide direct input on menus, service, dietary needs, and more during "Food Chats," held throughout the year. And residents are always welcome to fill out survey cards available at their tables.

"Keeping in constant communication with residents about their dining experiences and needs is key to our success," says Kielbasa.

Gathering around

Kielbasa and her team also host special dining events, such as themed meals and holiday celebrations, bringing residents together for memorable experiences.

In the past, residents have gathered for St. Patrick's Day festivities and Thanksgiving dinners--just to name two.

"We made a commitment for 2026 to have more international and culturally based dining events," Kielbasa says. "We are bringing more variety and unique flavors to the Brooksby dining experience."

Worry-free, social meals

With six--soon to be seven--restaurants and fun-themed dinners, it's easy to enjoy a delicious meal with neighbors, friends, and family at Brooksby.

"We enjoy meals with friends several times a week. Our pickleball club often gets dinner together, and my young grandchildren are always [excited] to dine with us at the restaurants," says Linda. "Plus, no cooking and no dishes to wash!"

Linda and Sydney agree that the vibrant atmosphere at Brooksby's restaurants reflects the engaging lifestyle they enjoy every day.

"We may be retired, but we are very engaged in activities all day," Linda says. "Not worrying about mealtime provides us with more time for 'playing.' And knowing that dinner with friends is an easy-to-plan gathering--almost every night--is significant."
