Study Will Look At Feasibility Of Peabody Trolley
City officials want to see if they can build a trolley through Peabody Square to the Salem commuter rail station.

PEABODY, MA -- City officials are moving forward with a plan to commission a study to analyze the feasibility and cost of a trolley system in Peabody. The city received three bids from companies that agreed to perform the study under the tight, city-imposed deadline of 30-40 days. Officials envision a trolley line that uses existing tacks in Peabody Square that also run along the North River canal to the Salem train station.
"This will give us direction on the strong and weak points (of the project)," Community Development Director Curt Bellavance told the Salem News, which first reported this story. "There are many options and we want to narrow it down to a program that is (functional)."
