2 Women Bitten By A Fox In Middleboro: Police

Animal Control and police are still searching for the fox.

MIDDLEBORO, MA — Two people were hospitalized after bites from what is believed to be the same fox in a 12-hour span, police said.

One woman's daughter hit the fox in the head with a shovel to rescue her mother from the Sunday night attack on Muttock Lane. The woman was bitten on both legs. The fox ran into the woods following the daughter's intervention.

A second woman was bitten Monday morning at the Kampgrounds of America. Officials believe it to be the same fox from the night before. Kampgrounds of America is about a half-mile from Mutton Lane.
