Leon - How's The Market?

Visit this blog for discussion on the Plymouth real estate market.

It's a question I get asked a lot. How is the Plymouth real estate market? So far this year, the local market has shown significant improvement. More homes are selling and they are selling faster than what has been experienced over the past 3 to 5 years. No, we are not back to the levels reached in 2005 or 2006, and no it is not as easy as putting a for sale sign out front, but at least things are moving in the right direction. Today, prices in this area are at levels similar to what they were in 2003. However, a major difference today is that interest rates are well below what they were in 2003 resulting in monthly savings on a mortgage payment of close to $300 on a home selling for $250,000. If you are a buyer, now is a great time to buy! If you are thinking of selling, it's also a great time as prices are not expected to go up very much in the next year or two. So why wait? Some sellers with homes in move-in condition and a fair asking price have gotten offers for close to, or in a few cases, above the asking price. Feel free to comment or to let me know what you'd like me to discuss when it comes to the real estate market in Plymouth.
