New State Legislature Website Increases Public Access and Transparency
We recently unveiled new updates to the Massachusetts Legislature's website, which was redesigned in September 2010.
At the State House, it is one of our top priorities to provide the public with a transparent way to see their elected officials at work and we have focused our efforts on developing a useful online tool that provides up-to-date information about all aspects of state government.
We recently unveiled new updates to the Massachusetts Legislature’s website, which was redesigned in September 2010. The updates will improve public access to legislation and also provide an enhanced mobile site.
Also included is a comprehensive section on the state’s complex redistricting process. This section provides an overview of redistricting and redistricting laws, committee members and upcoming redistricting hearings. Videos of all hearings are also put online and, most importantly, anyone can submit testimony or comments to the committee.
We are working hard to keep redistricting a fair and open process, and the participation of all people and parties is encouraged and welcomed.
The website updates also feature a new visual presentation and enhanced search capabilities for current and past legislation. Senate and House member pages are also now printer-friendly.
The Legislature’s website will post upcoming State House events, including House and Senate sessions and committee hearings. Visitors can also access House and Senate webcasts.
The new website can be found at www.MAlegislature.gov. We are committed to regularly updating our website and we welcome your feedback.
Constituents can also find relevant information about my activities on Beacon Hill and in my district on Facebook and Twitter.
