Diving for Treasure at Main Street Shop

Formerly a bank, The Exchange at 44 Main Street, Plymouth is now a treasure house of carefully-chosen consignment antiques and collectibles with a strong maritime theme. Take a stroll through the shop with Patch.

What gets exchanged at The Exchange?

For more than 100 years, the 44 Main Street location was a bank where money changed hands. Now, the former vaults stand open and money is exchanged for collectible furniture, antiques and art from a variety of consigners.

Many of the treasures on display have a maritime connection. There's a used (but refurbished) Japanese diving helmet, a ship's telegraph made in Marseilles and a vintage British Seagull boat motor.

Other items, such as a carefully carved antique ivory chess set, date even farther back to the days of sail.

The shop also has an assortment of furniture including a wide variety of seating, from a wicker wheelchair to a pair massively carved, thronelike armchairs.
