Man Drowns in Plymouth

A man drowned in Plymouth Sunday at Curlew Pond, authorities said.

PLYMOUTH, MA — A man drowned at Curlew Pond in Plymouth Sunday morning, police said. The victim was identified as a 69-year-old from Taunton. His name was not immediately released Sunday night.

Police said they received a report Sunday at 11:12 a.m. that the man drowned. The man was pulled from the pond and being administered CPR by a Good Samaritan by the time officers arrived. The man was transported to Beth Israel Hospital in Plymouth, where he was pronounced dead.

It was unclear if the man was swimming or in a boat. He was not wearing a floatation device, police said.
