Frugal Family: A February Stay-cation

It’s February vacation time! No need to travel far to find fun things for the kids to do – there are lots of options right here in Plymouth, some even for free! 

1.  Plimoth Plantation

Deal:  Visit the Nye Barn to see Crisp, the colony’s young steer, and rare-breed goats. Free! Also, check out the Plimoth Plantation’s website for additional activities available every day during February vacation. (Activities include: Children’s Knitting Class; Shakespearean Adventure; Clay Decorating Techniques; Wampanoag Maritime and Model Fish Net Making Program; Make a Model Mayflower II; A Colonial Letter-Writing Workshop; and a Wampanoag Craft Workshop. 2.  Pilgrim Hall Museum

Deal: Free craft activities from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for children accompanied by an adult. Treasure Hunts available all day. (Activities include writing with quill pens, creating bead necklaces, drawing portraits, making mosaics and playing with paper bag puppets.)

3. Plymouth Center for the Arts (www.plymouthguild.org)

Deal:  Two Fun Art Workshops, each $25 for non-members ($20 for members. Visit plymouthguild.org for more information on weeklong classes and workshops.
