1. Dennis G. Seward, 82, master craftsman (plymouthindependent.org) — Plymouth is mourning Dennis G. Seward, an 82-year-old master craftsman and longtime member of Faunce Church in South Plymouth, remembered for his carpentry career and community breakfasts. A joint celebration of life for Dennis and his late wife Florence will be held Oct. 10 at Wildlands Trust's Community Conservation Barn, with burial at Faunce Church and donations invited to the church.
   

2. Tina R. Conran, 66, longtime Amtrak manager (plymouthindependent.org) — Plymouth residents are saying goodbye to Tina R. Conran, a 66-year-old longtime Amtrak manager who loved White Horse Beach and adventurous pursuits like skydiving. Visitation and a funeral service are set for Sunday, Oct. 4, at Cartmell-Davis Funeral Home on State Road, with donations suggested to Plymouth Helping Hands for Animals in her memory.
   

3. Graham Simmons makes winning plays for Cohasset football's first win (wickedlocal.com) — Plymouth North football briefly thrilled home fans with big early plays before Cohasset pulled away for a 48-21 win on Thursday night. Standout moments included a 77-yard touchdown pass from Arthur Silva to Trey Thatcher and a long kick return that set up another score, but Cohasset's second-half surge ultimately decided the nonleague matchup.
