Southern Meth Dealers Arrested At Plymouth Motel: Police

Massachusetts State Police said meth dealers from Tennessee and North Carolina were arrested at a Plymouth motel Friday.

PLYMOUTH, MA — Three suspects from Tennessee and North Carolina wanted on methamphetamine distribution charges were arrested at a Plymouth motel Friday morning, according to Massachusetts State Police. The suspects were identified as Melissa Hinson, 28, of Humboldt, Tennessee; Jeffrey Haddock, 42, of Hohenwald, Tennessee; and Charles Barr, 52, of Chocowinity, North Carolina. The trio were arrested during a law enforcement raid at the Blue Spruce Motel that turned up methamphetamine, oxycodone and a gun, police said.

The raid happened Friday at about 4 a.m. and involved the State Police Gang Unit and Plymouth police detectives, authorities said. Police had previously gathered evidence for search warrants at the motel.

"During execution of the warrants, troopers and officers recovered a loaded Ruger .380 semi-automatic handgun with five rounds in the magazine, a total of approximately 18.4 grams of methamphetamine, five oxycodone pills, drug packaging materials, and scales," State Police said in a statement. "More ammunition was located and seized from one of the defendant’s trucks. Also seized was approximately $500 in suspected profits from narcotics sales."

Hinson was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine; Haddock was charged with methamphetamine possession with intent to distribute, unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition; and Barr was charged with methamphetamine possession with intent to distribute, oxycodone possession, unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition.
