Newborn Baby's Remains Found At MA Trash Facility
A caller dialed 911 from Zero Waste Solutions around 10:40 a.m. Thursday after finding the remains in a trash collection, officials said.
ROCHESTER, MA — Police are investigating after the remains of a newborn baby were found in a Rochester recycling facility Thursday, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz announced in a news release Friday.
A caller dialed 911 from Zero Waste Solutions around 10:40 a.m. after finding the remains in a trash collection that was trucked to the facility for disposal, officials said.
Rochester police are working with Massachusetts State Police to investigate the child's death, according to officials. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the baby's cause of death.

The Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit for Plymouth County is urging anyone with relevant information to contact Trooper David Wohler at 508-894-2648.
In a similar incident reported in April, the remains of a newborn baby girl were found in the trash at the same recycling facility. At the time, police said the remains were likely collected from Martha’s Vineyard and shipped to the Rochester facility for disposal.
