Using personal stories to spark personal connection is a key objective of PechaKucha Nights, now held in 1,142 cities around the world. It’s an exciting visual storytelling approach where tellers from all backgrounds and walks of life share stories that are exactly 400 seconds long. Marrying narrative with twenty images can create magic.

Don’t miss Bill Derry’s and Nina Lesiga’s workshop at 1:30 PM on Mar 30th “Play with your Story: The Power of PechaKucha” during “Sharing the Fire” 2019, Northeast Storytelling's Annual Conference and Festival. Following a discussion on the power and meaning of images, they will ask participants to craft a personal story “the PechaKucha way” to add depth, texture and intrigue.

Hear how the PechaKucha Bridgeport storytelling event has evolved, and drawn new voices and new audiences to the oral tradition and simultaneously stimulated conversation, collaboration and fun. Join Bill and Nina to embrace the Sharing the Fire 2019 theme – “All Kinds!”
