Plymouth Man Accused Of Kicking Police Officer

Police said the man became violent when they responded a call of him demanding to be allowed into homes in a Plymouth neighborhood.

PLYMOUTH, MA — A Plymouth man is accused of becoming belligerent and violent toward police when they responded to a report of him demanding to be let into several homes in a Plymouth neighborhood late Tuesday night. Jared Windus, 30, appeared in court to face multiple charges after police said they were forced to pepper spray and use a taser on him following the confrontation.

WHDH-TV reported police said one officer required medical treatment after Windus kicked him in the head and that he was bitten by one of the two dogs Windus had with him. Police said that Windus then threatened officers, and attempted to spit on and bite one of them, while they rode in an ambulance to the hospital.

When Windus appeared in court, his attorney said he was dealing with mental health issues, while his mother asked that he be enrolled in an alcohol abuse program.
