PLYMOUTH, MA β€” Plymouth beaches could open on June 13 to limited capacity as part of the towns plans to reopen beaches amid the coronavirus health crisis, according to town officials in the Town Manager Melissa Arrighi's report released on Friday.

Plymouth Public Health Chair Birgitta Kuehn outlined the tentative plans for beaches in town.

She said "if all goes as planned" reopening for Long Beach could be at June 13 at 50 percent. Vehicles will need a parking sticker β€” no cash exchange, daily passes or exceptions will be allowed. Bathroom access will not be allowed, though portable bathrooms that are cleaned and sanitized daily could be available.

She said passes will be sold for residents only online and by mail. Plymouth residents buying stickers must be told there is a risk to access since parking will be significantly restricted.

Morton Park could be opened on June 13 with 50 parking spaces and restrictions similar to that of Long Beach. She said "parking sprawl" may need to be watched on nearby streets there.

Fresh Pond and Hedges Pond could be opened at 50 percent capacity and portable bathrooms on June 20.

Lifeguards are planned to be at White Horse Beach as of June 20, but with no ability to limit parking or beachgoers, additional police will be required to enforce social distancing and mask-wearing.

The Nelson Park Spray Pad will be treated as playground equipment and will be closed as long as the state guidelines state that playground equipment should be restricted.

The Fiscal Year 2020 beach passes are still good through June 30. Those wanting passes for this year are encouraged to purchase them.

Plymouth Town Hall remains closed due to the health emergency.
