Rumble at Memorial Hall
Prepare for a testosterone-filled evening of mixed martial arts fighting Saturday night at Memorial Hall. One local fighter will step into the octagon along with the the best pros and amateurs in the region.

Plymouth's Robbie Slade will step into the octagon Saturday night for the first mixed martial arts card in Plymouth in more than a year.
Slade will fight Andre Soukhamthath (0-0) for his second win as a professional on the Cage Titans promotion mixed-martial arts show. This will be the first professional bout for Soukhamthath, 22 of Woonsocket, RI.
MMA returns to for the first time in more than a year with Cage Titans, a promotion run by Abington native and former fighter Michael Polvere.

Polvere is excited to take his show to Plymouth after premiering last year at Lombardo's in Randolph and several shows at Boston's IBEW Local 103 Union Hall.
"I actually fought twice in Plymouth and won both matches," Polvere, who went 4-0 in his career, said. "I always loved the venue and will be the largest venue we've done."

Although they're called "cage matches" don't start thinking of The Undertaker fighting Kane, these cage matches are like UFC, Ultimate Fighting Championships, than WWE. In mixed-martial arts bouts, fighters use a variety of styles from boxing, Greco-Roman wrestling, kick-fighting, karate, and other martial arts. Unlike boxing, the fighters can wrestle each other to the ground or throw kicks as well as punches. The winner is declared by knock-out, technical knock-out. submission or on points.
The night's main event features Cage Titans FC champion, and fourth-ranked Featherweight in New England, Bill Jones (4-2-0) from Team KAOS, and challenger, former Rockland High All-American wrestler Frank Sforza (2-0), from South Short Sportfighting. Joe Dechaves (4-3) will take on Jimmy Davidson (2-0) in a number one contender match in the 155 pound division.
The doors of Memorial Hall will open at 6 p.m. and a live band goes on at 6:15 p.m. The fights start at 7:05 p.m.
