South Crushes Coyle 3-1

The Plymouth South Panthers handed Coyle and Cassidy their walking papers last night with a 3-1 victory. Plymouth kept up a very aggressive attack throughout the evening that ultimately won the day.

It's often said that the best defense is a good offense, and the Plymouth South Panthers proved it last night in a 3-1 victory over Coyle and Cassidy.

The team played incredibly aggressively, making more than 10 shots on the goal in each period and putting incredible pressure on Coyle's defense from the first moments of the game. With an indomitable goalie like Coyle's Seth Lavigne, head coach Mike McCosh knew that it was a numbers game.

"We knew we had to keep throwing the the puck at them," McCosh said. "We threw everythign but the kitchen sink at them."

Coyle scored early in the first period, but the Panthers held onto the puck through most of the evening. Captain Tommy Colbert was the first to answer that goal in the second period to tie the game.

The team pulled ahead in the third period, Colbert scored an additional goal and sophomore foreward Gavin Yates put away the final point while Coyle's goal was left untended.
