The Great Escape: Valentine Gala

Valentine Gala Benefits Grown-ups and Kids

No need to feel guilty when attending this week’s featured adult-only event – your attendance helps support your child’s educational development at the same time. The Plymouth Education Foundation is hosting an inaugural Valentine Gala this Saturday, Feb. 12, at 6 p.m. at the Pinehills Golf Club.Β  The gala is black-tie optional, and will feature dinner, music, and a silent and live auction. Tickets are $75 per person, or $550 for a table of eight. For more information or to RSVP, contact Nicole Manfredi at nsmanfredi@aol.com.

Robert Betters, founding director ofΒ the Plymouth Education Foundation, explains that the idea for the foundation stemmed from the workΒ he conducted forΒ the Plymouth Chamber of Commerce onΒ the debt exclusion override that was on the ballot a few years ago. Although the foundation was organized in 2008, it did notΒ  introduce any fundraising initiatives until last year. The Valentine Gala marks the first major fundraising event for the foundation, and, according to Betters, will β€œhopefully be the first annual gala.” The Plymouth Education Foundationο»Ώ is a β€œnon-profit organization founded upon the philosophy that public education shall be endowed through a broad-based system of community support for enhancing and augmenting educational opportunities for students and citizens in the Town of Plymouth.”
