Driver in Quincy Bus Crash to Face Charges

Thursday, a clerk magistrate in Quincy District Court ruled that there was probable cause to charge the driver, Mark Woods.

QUINCY, MA — The driver behind the wheel of a Qunicy school bus that crashed into a home be charged in court.

Thursday, a clerk magistrate in Quincy District Court ruled that there was probable cause to charge the driver, Mark Woods, with negligence in the crash, according to WBZ.

On Oct. 25 at about 11:46 a.m., a Quincy school bus transporting Bernazzani Elementary School students was traveling on Quarry Street when it left the roadway and crashed into a fire hydrant, telephone pole, fence, stone wall, a Nissan Pathfinder attempting to exit Fallon Court, and a house at 62 Quarry St., police said. Five children on the bus, the driver of the Pathfinder, and Woods were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Woods was previously cited for negligent operating of a motor vehicle and a marked lanes violation. He is due back in court on Jan. 12.
