Former Quincy Cop Sentenced For Police Standoff

Keith Wilbur, 53, pleaded guilty to barricading himself in his Raynham home and firing two shots at police.

FALL RIVER, MA — A former Quincy police officer was sentenced after pleading guilty Friday to charges stemming from an armed standoff with police at his Raynham home. Keith Wilbur, 53, faces a four to six-year prison sentence, followed by three years of supervised probation. He pleaded guilty in Fall River Superior Court to threatened use of deadly force with a weapon, assault with a dangerous weapon and carrying a firearm while intoxicated.

In Jan. 2017, Wilbur, Raynham police told Turn to 10 News Wilbur's wife called because she was worried about her husband's drinking. She told police Wilbur had been missing since 7 a.m., and wasn't answering her calls. While she was on the phone with police, Wilbur came home intoxicated, so she asked for police to come to her home, prosecutors told the Brockton Enterprise.

Prosecutors said Wilbur barricaded himself in the basement with a loaded gun. When police tried talking to him, Wilbur fired two shots at the officers, police said. A few hours later, Wilbur surrendered. None of the officers were hurt.
