The suspect's attorney asked for more time to prepare for the dangerousness hearing.

QUINCY, MA — A man accused of punching and strangling his girlfriend had his dangerousness hearing postponed to Thursday in Quincy District Court.

Kyle Kaiser, 28, of Quincy, was supposed to have a dangerousness hearing Tuesday, after police said he beat his girlfriend and was in possession of several unregistered firearms and mason jars filled with drugs. Police were called to Kaiser's Beach Street apartment, which he shared with his girlfriend a little before 3 p.m., on Wednesday. Police told the Patriot Ledger that someone called and said that a woman was being held against her will and had illegal guns.

Police said they found bruising around Kaiser's girlfriend's right eye and on her neck. Kaiser's girlfriend denied he held her against her will, but police said during questioning, she later admitted that Kaiser strangled her a few days before.

After discovering the injuries, police charged Kaiser. When police let Kaiser use his cell phone to try and arrange bail, police said he instead sent profane text messages to his girlfriend while police interviewed her in the next room.

While in the apartment, police said they found two unregistered handguns and an assault rifle, as well as mason jars filled with 20 grams of cocaine, five ounces of psychedelic mushrooms, and over five pounds of marijuana.
