Puppy Doe Suspect Gets Prison Time for Church Theft
Radoslaw Czerkawski admitted to taking $4,500 from St. Lawrence Martyr Parish in New Bedford.

FALL RIVER, MA — A Polish national who faces charges in the Puppy Doe case will spend the three to five years in prison for charges from a separate case.
Radoslaw Czerkawski, 35, pleaded guilty to eight counts of larceny by check over $250. He admitted to taking $4,500 from St. Lawrence Martyr Parish in New Bedford, where he had stayed for several months in 2012, according to South Coast Today. He was sentenced to three to five years in prison, as requested by the Bristol District Attorney's office. Czerkawski requested one year in a house of corrections.
Czerkawski began staying at the parish after telling church officials that he wanted to become a priest. While at the church-owned rectory, Czerkawski stole checks and a signature stamp, taking $4,500 in checks.

Czerkawski conviction does not allow for timed severed. Currently, he is serving three to five years in MCA-Cedar Junction in Walpole for stealing $130,000 from a 95-year-old woman he was hired to watch over.
He also faces charges in the Puppy Doe case, where he's accused of torturing a pit bull in his Quincy home. He has pleaded innocent to multiple charges and is awaiting trial.
