Quincy Cop Charged with Fraud Due Back in Court

QUINCY, MA — A Quincy police lieutenant accused of making $11,000 by claiming he was working details while working regular duty or on vacation is expected back in court Wednesday.

Thomas Corliss of Hanover was indicted in August on 12 counts of mail fraud and embezzlement from an organization receiving federal funds. Authorities say Corliss lied about his work hours to the police department, allegedly collecting over $11,000 thanks to fraudulent time slips and overtime reports, according to the Patriot Ledger.

Corliss has been on unpaid leave for almost a year.
