Quincy Woman Charged With Robbing Man She Knew Had Inoperable Tumor

Police say the robbery took place at the Quincy Center MBTA station.

QUINCY, MA — A man suffering from cancer was robbed by a woman who was aware of his condition, police said.

On Aug. 3 at about 8 p.m., transit police responded to a reported assault at the Quincy Center train station. The victim, a 31-year-old man, told police that he was recently diagnosed with an inoperable sarcoma tumor and while at the train station, a woman he was familiar with approached him and engaged in conversation.

The victim said the woman was feigning interest in his current health condition to get physically close to him. While talking, the woman allegedly removed the victim's wallet from his pocket. When the victim noticed and demanded the wallet back, the woman struck the victim in the face and fled.
