Today's riddle: What has a tail, but no body? 🤔 (Answer below!)
• Select Board adopts new policy governing process for naming town-owned facilities (homenewshere.com) — Reading's Select Board has approved a new policy that formalizes how town-owned buildings and properties are named, including creating ad hoc naming committees with a Select Board member as chair. The policy sets a 20-year presumption for naming decisions, clarifies that school properties follow separate rules, and requires a public hearing with at least seven days' notice before final approval.
• RMLD Annual Power Week Open House scheduled for Thursday, October 8, 3 to 6 p.m. (thereadingpost.com) — Reading residents served by RMLD are invited to a free Public Power Week open house on Thursday, October 8, from 3–6 p.m. at the Ash Street garage. Families can enjoy hands-on activities, trucks, and demonstrations while learning about electrical safety, conservation, and local non-carbon power programs that shape your monthly bill and community infrastructure.
• Reading Public Library's Audiobook Collection Is Moving to the Main Floor (thereadingpost.com) — If you rely on audiobooks at Reading Public Library, note that the entire collection is moving to the first floor on September 21, right after the DVDs. This shift brings audiobooks closer to fiction and large print, so you can browse all your favorite formats in one convenient area. Staff will be available to help you find items during the transition.
