Police Investigate Apparent Suicide In Area Of Reading Business (patch.com) — Reading residents are being notified about a tragic incident at the Chili's on Walkers Brook Drive, where police say a person died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound Tuesday afternoon. Authorities report no danger to the public but asked people to steer clear of the area while the investigation continues.
   

2. Details Released On Vaccine Clinics In Reading (patch.com) — Reading residents can get flu, COVID, RSV, and shingles shots at a series of town-run vaccine clinics this fall at Coolidge Middle School on Sept. 25, Oct. 9, and Nov. 13. All clinics run from 2 to 5 p.m., giving locals multiple convenient chances to update their vaccinations close to home.
   

3. Reading breaks ground on new Killam Elementary School (homenewshere.com) — Reading has officially broken ground on the new Killam Elementary School, a major, voter-approved investment in local students that's expected to open in 2028. The project promises accessible, energy‑efficient, 21st‑century learning spaces for preschool through fifth grade, including dedicated areas for special education and multilingual learners, and was shaped heavily by Reading educators, families, and volunteers.
   

4. Driver rescued after vehicle crashes into garage in Reading (boston25news.com) — A driver was seriously hurt Saturday night when a vehicle crashed into a garage and rolled onto its side on Gazebo Circle in Reading. Firefighters rescued the trapped occupant, coordinated with the Reading Building Commissioner to assess structural damage, and turned the property over to management while the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
