Reading Updates Residents On Winter Storm Hernando
The town informed residents on the parking ban, trash collection, and more.
READING, MA — The town is continuing to dig out after a massive winter storm walloped the region.
As of 6 p.m. Monday, the town had received about 14 inches of snow and had more than 50 pieces of equipment clearing the roads.
Reading Public Schools were again closed Tuesday.

However, the public library reopened at 9 a.m. and all other town buildings operated on a normal schedule Tuesday.
The on-street parking ban was also lifted at 6 a.m. Tuesday.

Republic Services will resume trash and recycling pickup on Tuesday, with all routes operating on a one-day delay.
"DPW crews have been hard at work since last night with plowing operations, and expect to have municipal lots plowed and salted by tonight. School parking lots and drop off areas will be cleared on Tuesday," the town wrote on Facebook.
The town reminded residents to dig out fire hydrants and catch basins while also "watching out for your neighbors."
