RMHS Twists the Night Away, Raises More Than $7,500
Children's Miracle Network benefits from fun, games, and a whole lot of dancing.
Apparently there's a reason you can't spell fundraising without f-u-n.
The first Reading Memorial High School Dance Marathon combined dancing with plenty of games and good times. The result? Saturday's event at the field house raised more than $7,500 for the Boston Children's Hospital and the Miracle Network according to RMHS advisor Ally Lynch.
Saturday's event was through the Children's Miracle Network and is held in many schools throughout the country. According to Lynch, each Dance Marathon benefits the Miracle Network Hospital it is located closest to, so Reading's event benefited Boston Children's Hospital. RMHS is believed to be the first high school on the North Shore to hold a Dance Marathon to benefit the Children's Miracle Network.

There's no question the event was fun, but it was also a lot of work and five RMHS students made sure the night was a success. Event president Kelly Ward along with vice-presidents Emily Marcotte, Alice Merrill, Megan Coram, and Nicole Kendall did all the preparation and planning.
And if you weren't able to participate, remember there's still time to donate.
