• Massachusetts contractor accused of stealing $7.7 million from Mass Save heat pump rebates (thecooldown.com) — A Rockland-based contractor is accused by Mass Save utility sponsors of fraudulently collecting about $7.7 million in heat pump rebates, and has been blocked from the program while a lawsuit proceeds. Because Mass Save is funded through customer utility bills, Rockland residents could indirectly bear costs tied to any fraudulent claims and tighter oversight that may follow.
