Sawed-Off Shotgun, Cocaine, Cash Found in Roslindale Apartment: Police

Police searched a Roslindale man's apartment and discovered a large amount of drugs, cash and an illegal weapon.

ROSLINDALE, MA - Police searched a Roslindale man’s home and found a sawed-off shotgun, drugs and cash, police said.

At about 4 p.m. Thursday, officers arrested Dion Smith, 23, on a warrant out of the Attleboro District Court in the area of 127 Brown Ave., police said.

Police obtained a search warrant for his apartment and found a 12 gauge, sawed-off shotgun, several rounds of ammunition, 30 grams of cocaine, a large amount of marijuana packaged for sale and $4,358 in U.S. currency, police said.

Smith will be arraigned in West Roxbury District Court on charges of possession of a sawed-off shotgun, possession of a sawed-off shotgun with an obliterated serial number, trafficking class B drugs and possession with intent to distribute class D drugs, according to police.
